Program note:

Range upon Range is like a pronghorn antelope. The composition was birthed from a riff originally written with my band Fifth Veil.  But the yearling could not be tamed – it went romping through the mountains and hills of the world, crashing through a countryside wedding, distracting a folkmoot of Appalachian cloggers, chewing on the corner of a Hudson River School painting, drinking absinthe with an erudite guerrilla leader, joining an Icelandic death metal band, and so on (in no particular order). But this makes it sound as if the piece is about something – which really it isn’t. In the end, it’s just music for the sake of music.” -Conor Abbott Brown, November 11th, 2016
